From Mom, Tue 10/12/10 12:23 AM

Fav,

I agree, puppies are fun to watch at play, I texted Shirley today to see what she was doing on her day off and that's what she was doing. She has been having to bottle feed Grettle's puppies to make sure everyone is eating. Daisy ended up foster a couple of them. Daisy still has 2 of her own to feed. 2 of the littlest ones didn't make it. They were just too small and weak. I kind of have a theory on puppies. When dogs get stuck, male's semen wait in place in the uterus walls for the eggs to get released. When the eggs are released they space themselves along the female dog's u-shaped uterus and then the semen activate and start fertilizing. The eggs closest to the cervix get fertilized first and start developing. The eggs farthest away get fertilized last and could then end up a couple days behind in development. So when the pups are born the first ones out are usually the largest pups and they start eating right away. The last few puppies born are usually the smallest pups and have to then fight with the bigger pups who already figured out the whole feeding thing, so they take longer to figure out how to latch onto mom all the while the bigger pups are pushing them out of the way.

Gretchen and Mike are now headed to Houston. Gretchen is finally settling in and ate her food for the first time and is doing the potty thing on the leash now. Mike says that she really loves sitting in the co-pilot seat and looking out the window while they drive down the road and she helps him wake up in the "morning".

I would rather the littles be country hicks than urban punks. and I agree that your hat is better. His doesn't even come close, I mean it's not even camo for goodness sake. Nothing is truely cool unless it is camo.

Well I better get to sleep, I love you. Mom, XOXOXOX
