From Mom, Sun 10/31/10 1:20 AM

Fav,

I'm home again. Going home is a nice feeling. We got a little bit of stuff done. When we got there, Shirley had already gotten the rest of the siding up and window put in and most of the 110volt wiring done. Isn't she amazing? So today we re-routed a wire that was in the new doorway and ran plumbing drains for the washers, it still needs to be ran under the house and tied into the existing line. The 220volt lines for the dryer and the water supply lines need to be ran. Shirley also got most of the insulation done today.

Andy had a really bad night and day at work. About 12:50am last night he got paged by 911 that one of the residents committed suicide, shot himself in the head in front of his wife. So Andy called Rachel the manager and she came in to be there while the EMT and police were there. Then this morning the company that does restoration work for us came in the the apartment to remove whatever in the apartment that had gotten contaminated by blood and other stuff that came out of him. Andy took them over to the apartment and said he looked inside and then later wished that he didn't. The whole thing really hit him pretty hard personally because he grew up with a sister that attempted several times to end her life, so it brought that all to the surface. I didn't find out about it until 3:30pm today. I called him and talked to him for quite a while about everything that had happened. I could tell that he was still very shaken up about everything and told him to just concentrate on what he needed to get done tomorrow trash wise and work on service requests that need to be taken care of right away. They are closing the office early because they are having a Halloween party for the residents so if he needed to he could go home early. I've come to realize that Andy is a lot more sensitive and caring about people than I guess I thought him to be. Even before all this happened. Eventually he will realize not to take this job overly personal and to separate work from home life. Eventually they all get over it, usually it takes about 5 to 6 months of always cleaning up the same mess time after time and fixing the same broken crap every time someone moves out. Then they will realize that they are just there to do a job and at the end of the day they get to go home and get away from all the madness.

This is why everyone thinks that Joseph is an ass. I know differently, Joseph is a really nice person, but his job requires him to do things like honestly charge people for cleaning and damages. If he was nice, then the people moving out wouldn't be charged properly and the property would loose alot of money. Joseph's says he is there to do a job and get it done in the quickest manner possible, not chit chat with people. He could care less about their personal lives and acts professional at all times. I used to try to be everyone's friend when I first started. It's not really making true friends and the friendship is one-sided, because the resident's are just trying to make pave the way for favors.

I got a second box for your sgt and will start mailing them next week.
