Wassuuup?
So, I’m going to apologize. I’m a horrible big sister. I got your letter and was all excited and then I read it… and then I set it on the coffee table and totally forgot to write you back. Its not like I was super busy or anything. I think my brain/body just kind of went into autopilot. I’m sorry. But I’m hoping to make it up to you by making this kind of a longer letter. Money Penny is still not fixed. I think I’ll take your advice and wait till my tax return and take it in. She seems to be doing fine, otherwise. Gave her some oil and brushed off her excess battery acid that was building up. Some guy with a huge beard on a motorcycle told me my brake lights were out. So I made Brian fix it. It’s happened like three times now, so it’s a really simple and fast fix for him. It’s just a wire that for some reason hangs down behind the brake pedal, and (according to Brian) it’s very tight so when the tiniest thing pulls on it, it gets disconnected and I have no brake lights. Brian wants to put a wire extension on it. But it makes no sense to me because a foot never goes BEHIND the brake pedal… so I don’t know what could possibly be making it disconnected like that so much. Like I said other than a few minor issues she’s doing good. I wish you could have been here for the Pirate Festival. I don’t know if your mom or mike has told you about it yet. But it was a whole weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and Saturday was when all my friends went. Which I wasn’t too happy with because they do fire dancing with sticks and poi and stuff, and I knew they were going to do it there once it got dark. But alas I had to work. So I looked online, and Sunday of the festival they were attempting to break the Guinness World Record for “Most pirates gathered in one place.” The record was 1,140, set at Heide-Park, a theme park in Germany, on June 2nd, 2007. I talked Mike into bringing Theo. I went to Party City to find more stuff to qualify us as pirates. Like we needed swords and eye patches etc. I found a little Theo sized pirate costume for $10. And if you ever get internet on your new Iphone (I’m totally jealous BTW you little bastard…) you can get on myspace and see the pictures that Mike and I have of Theo in his costume. Anyways, like any other day we ran into a lot of setbacks. Mike was running late, and then I locked my keys/tickets in my trunk. So we didn’t get counted for the record. But the new record is 1,651. Portland rocks, no? Haha. It was pretty fun. Kinda boring up until the cannon fire and people “fought.” It was Pirates vs. Redcoated Englishmen. Haha. It was great. Bought a little wooden sword for Theo for $5, him and Mike dual wielded a couple times since we had four swords to the three of us. And a good time was had by all. Yaaayyy. Oh, so something is happening at work that I’m super excited about. One of our biggest contracts is with a group called Art & Soul. They rent out our entire facilities (i.e. all of banquets and like half the hotel rooms) for about a week and come in and they have arts and crafts classes. Since there’s really no room to have a lunch or dinner of any sort, they get what we call cash sales. Pretty much just like a stand where you could get coffee and a muffin in the morning and then at noon you get a salad or sandwich and a pop. And I did it for a few days last year and I remember I brought home tips. So I asked my boss if I could do it everyday while they were here. And I am! Its 8am -3pm, which is seven hours, when I usually get anywhere from like 3 to 6. And I’m usually only busy for like an hour in the morning and then they get an hour for lunch. PLUS tips. And I’m not worried about not getting tips. Old artsy ladies love me. Yay for meee!
Are you 21 yet? Haha, I can’t wait to pop your Bagdad cherry. This month they’re showing Beetlejuice. Brian says he actually wants to go. Gah, I can’t wait.
Dad’s driving down to California today to take Brandon to gay days at Disneyland. I was planning on going this year, but finances make that impossible. So I told him to bring me back something cool. Haha.
Okay. I think of any more… so I hope you’re having fun shooting things, just don’t shoot yourself in the foot like a dumbass.
Love ya! Nollie.
