Dear Jeremiah,
It’s Friday for me and my work day is just about done. I worked in a couple of units today and had some parts come in so I could tie up some loose ends, so to speak. Not that bad of a day weather wise. Morning fog that burned off rather quickly. Then sunshine. I decided no to wish for rain again. I was pretty damp after last time. We got the truck up and running again. It was the battery like I thought. So you can drive it a bit when you’re here next on leave. I just ask that you insure your license. I am insuring the truck. So I’m sure that will make you fairly happy to hear. Wes and I had a good conversation about the use of the truck. So it shouldn’t be a big deal when you’re here. Well Pony should be going home tonight. Another tomorrow. 2 on Sunday. I’ll be on call this week also. So can’t go any place anyway. Darn pen! Keeps crapping out on me. Talked to Shirley today. She told me that she rescued a dog from Winlock’s little jail house. (they put dogs there now). Someone she works with had split with her husband a few months back and he had the dog cause she couldn’t take him (the dog), Duke, to live with her at her apartment. The woman told Shirley that duke had been locked up in the house by himself for a week with no care. So Shirley went and sprung him from jail, Duke is a Shepard/lab/something else mix. He is 12 years old and has no balls. Shirley says that he is a good dog and is adjusting okay with the other dogs. She only introduced him to Daisy, they went for a walk around the yard. Then Jolly and Gretel got to meet him and that went well. I’m sure there will be an adjusting time while he creates his place in the pack. Good thing he is fixed. Jolly and Gretel belong for Dutch this time. Shirley said that he needs a good brushing out and a bath. Beside he probably needs shots. Shirley doesn’t know at this point if this will be permanent or not. It Shirley hadn’t rescued Duke, he probably would have been put down given his age. Most people don’t want to adopt an older dog. I just got a call from the people who wanted Pony. They changed their minds because Pony’s blood work showed that she is still ill. I’m waiting for a call back from our Vet so I can get her taken care of so she could eventually go home with someone. I do have a few people I could send emails to that had made inquiries earlier about puppies. So I’m not worried about placing her with someone. I’m also having to refund the money they put down on her. Hopefully the vet calls me soon. Sigh. Well it’s about time for me to leave work. So I need to get stuff put away. I love you and miss you. Take care.
Love Mom
