Dearest Jerm,

It’s payday and then I paid the mortgage, so that’s gone. LOL. So far it’s been a pretty quiet day at work. I just finished working in GG104 and am at the compactor cycling it cause its Scarecrow’s day off. At least I didn’t get stuck cleaning it up this morning. One of the other guys must have done it cause it was all cleaned up when I got back here. Yah J So that in is self is a pretty good way to start the day. It’s nice today, perfect temps just enough sun. awesome ya know. The leaves haven’t started to turn color just yet only a few small areas in the birches have yellow. The garage door got installed yesterday at G&G’s house. I haven’t seen it yet. But grandpa is tickled pink about it. There’s even a motion sensor that turns the light on when the open the door into the garage. So that’s one less thing to worry about breaking. I found a brief History of the 101st Airborne and mailed it to you this morning. You will probably get it the day before you get this letter unless they all come on the same day. I had 3 letters from you in my box last night when I got home. I think though that I must have gotten one on Saturday, I checked the box a little early that day. I think. I usually read them out aloud to who ever is with me at the time. Last night Brittany was over and she heard the great news about the 101st. I guess that John still doesn’t know where his duty station is and stuff. Though she thinks Germany may be one place cause he’s to be a tank repair guy. She kinda sounded like she didn’t want to go to Germany, but I told her that it was a pretty good place to be stationed, the American bases there are huge and that you don’t often get the chance to live aboard. They could travel all over Europe when ever John’s on leave and stuff. Anyways I’m pretty excited that you get to be a part of the 101st Airborne. It’s like the best of the best. Only 1 in 3 guys made it into the division when it was first formed. Tammy’s Michael is pretty excited about it and so proud of you. You must have caught the attention of someone to get in. There’s a couple of books about the 101st. One looks like it’s about WWII and the other has a newer photo on the front so I think it’s about the whole history and such. I could get them and mail them if you want to read them. Might be good to know some of the history of the division since you are going there. I believe there’s also a John Wayne movie called the Screaming Eagles that takes place during WWII. Must be great if the Duke went and made a movie about it J. G&G don’t have it cause the won’t buy a war movie like that. Like the Green Berets. Let me know about the books. We still have the boys. I dk for how long though. Ann needs to get her shit together and doesn’t even know if or how long she will be staying there and stuff. Some lady just drove up and walked by me and left her trash by the compactor. WTF!! Does she think it’s okay just cause I’m sitting here? Hate people. Hate lazy people. Hate litterers. Hate trash. Hate trashy people. Hate people. She even had the gall to say “afternoon” F! Hate! Hate! Hate! Haha. The sun is all warm on my neck and back of my head. Just about too warm. I decided to enjoy it while I can. All too soon the rain will come and I will long for the sun to shine again. Ft Campbell has a pretty good website overflowing with information though I think that most bases have the same services available to those who are stationed there. Did you know that Ft. Campbell is on the border between Kentucky and Tennesse? It’s only 60 miles north of Nashville. Nashville is where you fly to when you go there. You could stop by Graceland and have your picture taken at the Gates and send it to Grandpa J. Did you have to learn to sing the Army song? There’s a short Screaming Eagles song. It was on the website. You should start saying “Nuts” whenever someone tells you that it’s impossible for you to do something. Too bad Q Smith will be stationed elsewhere but at least he will be closer to home you know. You guys can write to each other. Well I gotta get back to work. I love ya bunches and miss you like crazy.

Love mom.
